Olinda Oil Museum & Trail in Brea

  • Posted on

It's a hike AND a museum -- local, easy-to-moderate, one hour hike with historical significance for our city.

North Orange County is full of beautiful canyons with little-known hiking spots tucked away in quiet neighborhoods. One of Brea’s locally treasured trails is the Olinda Oil Museum Trail. Park your car by the museum and be prepared for a small, local adventure.

The 2.0 mile loop trail takes you across bridges, over hills, and past some of Brea’s historic oil wells. Most people walk/hike this trail in a little under an hour.  Once you reach the highest point on this trail, views include Carbon Canyon Regional Park, Chino Hills State Park, and on clear days, you can even see Catalina Island off the coast. There are moderate elevation changes as you scale the canyon.  Enjoy the views and check out the Olinda Oil Museum at the start or end of your visit.
