Our house sits atop a small grade overlooking a relatively peaceful portion of Arovista city park. You'll enjoy plenty of privacy in your area of our home and, on many mornings, will be treated to a nice sunrise over the park trees. Afternoons are typically pleasant on the back balcony once the sun has moved to the front of the house. Should you decide you really don't want to see what's going on outside, the bedroom is provided with room-darkening shades.

Central air and heat is provided, and you have access to thermostat control from your space. Additionally, your bedroom has a ceiling fan and we have also provided a personal floor heater and floor fan, if desired.

Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and water bottles are provided as a courtesy and if there is anything else you need to help make your stay more enjoyable, just ask! We look forward to providing you with a relaxing and comfortable experience!

Access to our shared main floor deck, patio table, fire pit, hammock, and outdoor ping pong table are available upon request at no additional charge - just ask! We enjoy the time we spend in our back yard and on our deck overlooking the park and hope you can as well!

You'll have complete and private access to the queen bedroom, your own full bath with a tub/shower combination, and the small, private hallway adjoining the bedroom and bath.

Access to the mini-suite is via an outside stairway and balcony immediately beyond our home's driveway. You'll be able to come and go as you please with your own, unique key code for your private entrance.

The hallway adjoining your space connects to the main house, however, a door at the end of the hallway will remain closed and locked during your stay in order to provide you with privacy.

When first arriving, I am usually available to greet you and answer any questions you may have. After that, you'll be on your own but I am typically always available via AirBNB messaging, text, or phone should you have any other needs or questions.

Where You'll Be
Our home is located in a very safe, quiet, and modest suburban neighborhood. We are walking distance to the Birch Street Promenade (Brea's award-winning downtown area) featuring plenty of outdoor cafes and other eateries, large chain restaurants, boutique shops, and a multi-screen Edwards movie complex.

Immediately behind our house is the beginning of “The Tracks at Brea Trail Route”, a four-mile long paved bike and hiking trail that traverses the City from east to west. Near the eastern end of the trail are Carbon Canyon Regional Park and Chino Hills State Park. Brea Mall is less than two miles from our house and there are a myriad of eating and entertainment options nearby.

Distance to Attractions
From our house, it is approximately 10 miles to Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm, The Honda Center, Angel Stadium, The Grove of Anaheim, House of Blues Anaheim, the Anaheim Convention Center, and the Pomona Fairplex (LA County Fairgrounds). Depending on time of day, you can reach most of these places by car in anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes. During work commute times, things can get a little further away, time-wise. The Brea Improv is just a few minutes by car and can easily be walked to from our house.

Walking distance to bus stops can get you connected to most of these SoCal attractions as well as to the Fullerton Train Station with service toward Los Angeles and San Diego, however, Uber and Lyft are usually better options if you do not have a vehicle of your own.

We are centrally located to four major airports -- LAX, Ontario, Orange County, and Long Beach. Travel time (via car, Uber, or Lyft) is typically between 35 to 90 minutes, depending on time of day and airport of choice.

Things to Keep in Mind
We can only provide parking for one guest vehicle on our driveway - overnight street parking near our house with our neighbors is at a premium and requires a permit from the city - if you will be needing to bring two vehicles here, please do not book but instead search for another listing that can accommodate you.

Although your bedroom and bath are connected to our main house, the door between your space and ours will remain closed and locked during your stay. You will NOT have access to our main house, kitchen, laundry, etc. Although you have a microwave, sink, toaster, and refrigerator, there are no additional cooking facilities available during your stay.

Special Note on Cooking: There is no cooking allowed in the suite unless it can be done in the microwave, toaster, or with the electric water kettle.  The use of any cooking appliances (portable stoves, air fryers, etc.) that we have not supplied is not allowed -- this is primarily a bedroom/living space and is not set up to adequately vent the smells of cooking foods, particularly those cooked with any type of oil.  As a consideration for others, if you are needing a place to stay that allows cooking, please search for a listing that includes a full kitchen.

There is a maximum of two guests per stay with this listing - no additional guests or visitors are allowed for this one-room suite. An additional fee, equivalent to the full daily rate, will be charged each day for any and every unauthorized person staying in the one-bedroom guest suite. If you want space for more people, please look for a place that can support and welcome larger parties -- our one-bedroom guest suite is only designed to accommodate two people.

Expectations
Requires Stairs: One flight of outside stairs immediately adjacent to driveway leads to private guest suite entrance.
Noise Potential: Inside, things are usually pretty quiet, however, when sitting outside, you will often enjoy the sounds of people having a good time in the park :)
*Special Note for May 31-June 2 in 2024: The annual Brea Summerfest is a free-admission community carnival with rides, food, and music happening on the other side of the park behind our house. From your balcony or our backyard, you'll be able to see the lighted ferris-wheel and any tall attractions they set up. You'll also be able to hear the music and other sounds of the event. This is not the typical weekend here and if you think this event may impact the enjoyment of your stay, please consider staying with us on another date.
Cameras/Surveillance: All exterior activity at house is covered by video security cameras and may be recorded.
